the setting
after the second wizarding war in 1998 with the exposure of the wizarding community's struggles to the muggles of the world, the ministry of magic decided to carefully loosen their stringent guidelines around secrecy, allowing for muggles to integrate on some level with wizarding communities. twickenham's magic community began to slowly reveal themselves to the muggles among them, and it became one of the first truly blended societies between muggles and wizards, but certainly not the last.

of course all is not completely well, and there are some murmurings of dissent in the darker parts of the wizarding community. though lord voldemort is long gone, those that supported him less vocally were able to slip back under the radar, and are growing bolder again. are muggles taking advantage of wizard-kind? should we go back to secrecy?

twickenham

built in the 14th century, twickenham has always had a fantasy quality. situated in an often-foggy valley about 2 hours train ride from london, wizards began to inhabit the sleepy village sometime in the 18th century, enjoying the close proximity to the country's capital. living in secret for several centuries, it wasn't until the end of the 19th century that the witches and wizards who had lived in secrecy began to reveal themselves to their muggle neighbors. refugees from the war-torn hogsmeade came to set up shop, bringing with them staple favourites of the wizarding village.

now primarily a magical community, traces of magic permeate every brick of twickenham. built up around a circular market crossing, the lazy winding roads of twickenham stretch out from this centre. it is not without modernization however, though new buildings are kept up to an aesthetic code determined by the town council, several shops and businesses have moved in, bringing little pieces of 21st century london to the sleepy streets.
